Romantic summer night at a traditional Korean house
Night-time Opening of the Baek In-je House
Period: Until 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, July to August, 2018
Venue: Baek In-je House (16, Bukchon-ro 7-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul)
The Baek In-je House is open until 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays from July to August so that all tourists can leisurely visit the hanok (Korean traditional architecture) complex. Built during the Japanese colonial period, the house-cum-museum is the only historical building in the Bukchon neighborhood of its kind that is open to the public.
Visitors can have a glimpse into modern hanok culture and the lifestyle of the upper class in Seoul during the first half of the 20th century. Visitors can freely look around the complex on their own (except for restricted areas) during the night-time opening or make a reservation on Seoul City's public reservation site (https://yeyak.seoul.go.kr) for a 30-minute tour with a guide starting at 7 pm.
